Playing Catch-up

Sorry it's been a while, but things have been a bit crazy.

A couple of weeks ago I posted that our buyer backed out.  So we got the house re-listed quickly and the day after it was listed we got another 6 offers.  The first one was the one we accepted and are happy to announce that they are very eager to close on the house.  They've had the inspection done (only a few repairs need to be done) and everything is well on it's way to being taken care of.  We close on May 16th.

Brian heads out to California on May 5th and I'll follow on May 18th.  The next few months are gonna be a bit unusual.  We'll live in temporary living for anywhere from 2-4 months until the house we're buying in California closes.  I hate the idea of living out of suitcases and being constantly tossed to and fro, but that's how it is with these types of moves.  I should be used to it by now.

I have to say, I am utterly sick of moving!  I really want to settle into a place, I mean REALLY settle.  I want to be able to get to know my neighbors, make improvements to my home, get into a good routine with my kids, actually have every box unpacked and put away.  I know it's a lot to ask, and I'm just dreaming, but it would be nice.

Happy Place

Brian read the kids a story last night titled "What Mammas Can't Do".  Following the finishing of the book Ian and daddy had a conversation.

Ian:  "Daddy,  I don't like that book.  Don't read it again."
Brian:  "Why not? It's a cute book."
Ian:  "Cause it's not right.  My Mamma can do everything." (Very matter-of-factly)

Can I just say, I'm in my happy place.

Not So Great News

The people who put the offer in on our house backed out.  That's right, they BACKED OUT!!!  AHHHH!  They said it was because of the jets that fly overhead occassionally.  I'm so bummed.  Now I'm frantically trying to keep the house SUPER clean, make sure I'm out of the house when people want to view it (forget any kind of schedule or nap times) and I'm stressing about whether or not we'll get another offer.  I sure hope something comes along soon.

Stuck

We've spent this last week in Palmdale, CA looking for a house to live in once we move and we were successful in finding a beautiful home.  Now we are sitting in the Burbank, CA airport for a very delayed flight.  Let me tell ya, it's not all that fun to spend hours in a tiny airport with an 8 month old.  He's just tired and not happy about the situation (not that I'm totally thrilled with it either).
