October 2014

I've been way behind on life, but my goal is to catch up and keep up this year!  I've even made myself a goal sheet for it (which I'll share in a later post).

Back in time.... 4 months ago....

In September I (Kayla) went in for abdominal surgery.  Things went good and though it was going to be a very long 8 week recovery, I only had to stay one night in the hospital and was able to come home.

Sadly, about 4 weeks later I developed a serious pain in my abdominal.  After going to the doctor and he running some tests, he sent me over to the hospital for a CT scan.  By the time the CT scan was done I was in excruciating pain.  I don't remember ever being in more pain, and that was saying a lot since each birth and recovery was very painful.

I doubt the CT technician was trying to scare us, but when he rolled my bed back to the observation room, he told Brian "They should be right with you, but if she has any changes before they get here, call this number."

We soon found out that I had two infection abscesses on my stomach.  Heavy antibiotics were administered and a drain was inserted to help remove the infected liquid.

Though the care I received was very good and the nurses super sweet, I didn't enjoy the week long stent in the hospital.  It was a slow process, but they finally cleared up the infection and I was good to head home.

My mother was a hero and she came down to help me recover once I got home.  She took great care of me and I'm truly blessed to have her in my life.  While here, we were able to do some fun stuff.  Below is a picture of our family picnic up the canyon.

My very darling, pregnant little sister!

The kids were playing hide-n-seek and tag with Brian and James and loving every minute!

I love how much these two love each other!  It's great to have cousins around.
