So, get ready for tons of pictures. Our Spring Break was packed with tons of fun and lots to do.
On Monday morning we drove out Moab and set up camp. The kids love camping so they were ready to help wherever they could. The weather was perfect and the trees around our tent were beautiful. Since we didn't have much planned on Monday we went to the playground and hung out.
Tuesday morning was pancakes over the fire. I think they turned out really good and it was fun cooking over the fire.
Trey made Brian and I laugh because he definitely had the camping stance down, hoodie on, hands in the pockets, standing next to the fire. Goofy kid.
Then we headed off to Arches National Park.
Did some exploring...
...climbed the rocks...
... saw Sand Dune Arch ...
(which Brian climbed to the top of)
... hiked a mile to Broken Arch ...
... and threw rocks off the edge ...
... climbed some more ...
... found Double Arch ...
...climbed up to a ledge ...
... then climbed back down.
We didn't make it to some of the bigger, more well known arches cause the hikes would have been to hard on the kids. But we had fun and one day we'll go back and make the bigger hikes to see the other arches.
We'd been to Goblin Valley once before and had fun, but this time was AWESOME! We've decided that there is so much to do at Goblin Valley, so we are going to make it our annual October trip! Anyone is welcome to join us. It's a wonderful place for ALL ages.
So this is a picture looking out over the valley from the parking lot area. See that big white mountain peak? See the one shorter just to the right of the picture? We hiked to the top, with three kids!! Just below that mountain there is a big, white boulder. That was our original goal to reach, but once there we just wanted to keep going.
This is an awesome little hidden cave that Brian found and we got the kids to crawl up in.

When we reached the top of the mountain the kids thought it was so awesome! Ian kept telling me that there was nothing above us but clouds and Kenya kept saying "Woah!" It was great. The best thing about it ... the kids hiked and climbed 90% all on their own, including Trey.
In the picture below you can see the parking lot in the right top corner. It was pretty far away and we were higher than it. Kinda cool!
I was standing on the edge of the top when I took this. Straight ahead is the parking lot. To the left middle of the picture is the white boulder that was our goal. It's such a pretty place!
We finally had to head home, but we're excited to go back next year.
While we were gone, and since we were camping on Ian's birthday, I asked Britt and James to set up Ian's birthday present. Table Soccer.
We also had Ian's birthday party on Saturday and we got this cool tank cake for him. He thought it was pretty awesome! The rocks were edible chocolate. Kinda cool.

And finally to sum up our Spring Break, we are getting our garden ready to plant. But we also bought two Asian Pear trees. Our HOA requires we have two trees in our yard, but we only had one. So off to Home Depot we went and found these two beauties. I hadn't originally wanted a fruit tree, but I thought these would be awesome! So maybe in a year or two we'll have Asian Pears. I hope so. Yum!
